A sun-kissed Firhill was the venue for Partick Thistle hosting visitors, Kilmarnock.

Both teams had their chances in the first half, but neither could capitalise.

Kilmarnock Manager, Tommy Wright saw himself receiving a yellow card, punting the ball away in frustration when a refereeing decision didn't go Killie's way.

The first half ended 0-0 in what was a pretty even contest.

Kilmarnock came out all guns blazing for the start of the second half, leading to Scott Robinson being fouled for a penalty on the 50th minute.

Oli Shaw stepped up to take it, Sneddon saved the penalty and put the ball back into Shaw's path, who blasted it over the bar.

Just one minute later, a Killie cross from the left made its way into the box. Richard Foster's attempt at a clearance hit Kevin Holt straight in the face, and into the net. The visitors deserving of their lead.

Thistle attempted to pull a goal back, without any luck.

The 65th minute saw a wonder strike by Oli Shaw, outside the box and into the top left hand corner. Making amends for his penalty miss earlier, scoring his first goal for Killie, and their second on the day.

Thistle tried to get themselves back in the game, but Kilmarnock's defence and goalkeeper did well to manage the game.

Ending 2-0, that was Kilmarnock's third win in a row. Leaving them just one point behind league leaders, Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
